Testimonials

Julie Wylie has presented music workshops and papers at national and Australian conferences  in Music Education, Special Education, and Early Childhood.
Julie is available to present Music Seminars and workshops to parents, teachers and students.
Here is just some of the unsolicited feedback from the books and tapes.

Julie's work in early childhood music is unparalleled in its sophistication, creativity, insight, and basis in science.  Her work with children, both with and without disabilities, and their parents uses music to support and develop effective parenting, to bring about significant positive clinical outcomes, and to enhance the quality of life of all involved.  To say Julie is a pioneer is an understatement.  Her work represents a genuine paradigm shift in how we should be thinking about music in our work.

Julie’s workshop conducted in our professional development centre was just outstanding. People were saying they had never been on a training day like it, and one gentleman described it as life-changing. The whole presentation was so professional and deeply appreciated by all.

I want to thank you for all that you do... it wasn't until I sat down to prepare this morning's session that I realised just how many of your wonderful songs we actually use on a regular basis at Musikool Kids... and they are all so loved by the children. As neither myself nor Mum are singers, (not very musically talented at all, actually!) we do rely on your cds and it's fantastic to have such great resources. I also really appreciate the ideas, support and encouragement I receive from you at Musical Parenting - you are a real inspiration! God Bless you,

Melanie Koster

My name is Fiona and I run a small music class in Edinburgh Scotland.  I recently bought "Dancing in a Circle" and have found it a fabulous resource which I use every week.

Thank you very much,

Fiona Porteous

I wanted to email you and thank you for your wonderful course "Music is Child's Play". I already do alot of your songs with my music classes but now I know WHY! Your passion and enthusiasm is inspirational. I am writing this at 6am this morning (Sunday) as I was woken by over–active brain singing "Down by the Bay" and also my excitement over the trip I'm taking to Spotlight today to get that fabulous fabric!!! I have been constantly thinking about I can use your ideas within my groups – I'm very exited! I would love to bring my 6 year old twins to your music group on Tuesday after school. Neve and Flynn love music and I don't feel like they get enough of what they need at school. I just think they would benefit from your experience and enthusiasm greatly!! I look forward to introducing the children to you!

“Message from a loyal fan in Malaysia” “I have just ordered a couple of your CDs and a book from your website. While I am thinking about it I thought I would take the opportunity to tell you how much my daughter Alisha aged 14 months and I love your CDs.

I am a Kiwi, but live in Malaysia. I first read about your work when “Rock-A-Bye Blues was featured in a parenting journal while I was on holiday in New Zealand last year. Since then it has been my constant companion during long hours in the nursery. Sadly it was in my car which was stolen a month ago, which has made me realise that I can’t live without it. I am now ordering another copy.

I also have “Bean Bag Bop” and “Teddy Bear’s Tango” which I play daily to my daughter. “MORE, more!!!” she demands in the pauses between tracks. I have also been playing it to other kids at our play-group and they also love the music.

I don’t consider myself to be a particularly musical person, but since I got hooked on your CD’s, I find myself singing to my daughter, or myself almost every hour of every day. I am sure that even after my daughter has grown up and moved on to rock and roll, we will both still be singing “I Love My Family” and the “Teddy Bear’s Tango”! so I want to thank you sincerely for giving us such a wonderful treasure to share and grow with.

Heidi Collins, Kuching, Malaysia

The CD has arrived and IS just WONDERFUL!  Congratulations Julie".

" Julie's classes, together with Musical Parenting, gave me more ideas for parenting in a positive way than I would have had otherwise, and the music has become an integral part of my parenting.  Before I had children I could honestly say I could live without music. But once I had children I needed music and now I don't know how I'd survive without it".

Lisa Reid in "Sound Ideas" May 2003

I used your “Dancing in a Circle” in my music workshop. It was a great hit with adults and children. They all loved it. Keep up the good work. You are a great inspiration to us all.

Thank you for your inspirational workshop which you presented in New Plymouth recently. I attended all sessions which have motivated me to further action, to bring music into more people’s lives.

We love your CD's. SING BABY DANCE BABY and SWING ME A SONG are much loved favorites can we please order the next ones in the series.

Kerrie Sutton, Waitangi Street, Kurow.

Caitlin is now one year old  and we are astonished at how she responds to your CD's.
Her reaction to your music has been a constant source of pleasure, thus I must have your latest tape!

Melissa Thorn, Tirohanga, Lower Hutt

I enclose an order for two copies of your CD “Dancing in a Circle” I look forward to listening to it as does my two year old daughter Melanie. We are exhausting all of your other CD's and thoroughly enjoying them. The second CD is for a friend currently living in Athens, Greece. Last month she moved house, and  is extremely upset, because during the move, your precious CD was lost! Such musical CD's for babies are unobtainable in Greece. She has sent me an urgent memo requesting another CD in your series that is how popular you are, in these far- flung places!

Joanna Clarke, Takapuna, AUCKLAND.

I HAVE JUST READ YOUR WONDERUL BOOK “Music, Learning and Your Child”. It is the most wonderful book on early childhood music that I have come across( and how I wish I had seen it when my own children were young.) Congratulations on an outstanding achievement.

I recently borrowed “SING UPON A RAINBOW “ from the library for my three year old. He loves music, but this CD was a particular hit and we are still singing several of the songs weeks after the tape had to be returned. Thank you for a great kid’s cassette.
