A Wonderful Example of Musical Play and Musical Brain Gymnastics

See how Bobby McFerrin involves a large audience in a sung improvisation where he dances onto specific notes of the pentatonic scale and the audience sing each of his notes.  The pentatonic scale is a five note scale. If it was in C major the notes would be CDE G A C. If we play the black notes on the piano, this is the pentatonic scale in a different key. Musically this scale is universal and is easy to remember and sing. The nursery rhyme “Mary Had a Little Lamb” uses the pentatonic scale.
